Write for us

We welcome pitches that help readers notice something specific about visual art, music, books, theatre or dance. A strong proposal has a clear question, a distinct angle and a reason the subject will remain useful beyond a single news cycle.

What we welcome

Pitch explainers, close-looking pieces, comparisons, cultural background and reader-friendly ways into a work or form. We value accurate detail, plain language and an argument grounded in choices readers can inspect for themselves. Do not assume specialist knowledge or present personal taste as a universal rule.

What to include

In a short proposal, name the subject, state the central idea, explain what the reader will understand or notice, and say why your angle differs from a general overview. Mention any sources, access, images or potential conflicts relevant to the piece. A pitch is not a promise of publication.

How to send a proposal

Send your proposal through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Keep the message focused on the idea rather than attaching a complete article without an invitation. We cannot promise a response time or acceptance.
