Trusted Arts Spotlight

Editorial policy

Trusted Arts Spotlight aims to be clear about what is known, what is interpretation and who has a stake in a piece. Our coverage is written for readers, not as a route to automatic praise or a hidden sales pitch.

Accuracy and context

We check factual details against suitable, identifiable sources before publication and take care with names, dates, quotations and descriptions of works. An interpretation is not a fact merely because it sounds confident. We mark opinion as opinion, give relevant context and avoid claiming access or first-hand experience we do not have.

Independence and interests

Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial relationships. A partner does not buy a favourable review, a particular conclusion or control over unrelated coverage. Where a relevant interest could affect how a reader understands a piece, we disclose it plainly.

Corrections

If a factual error is identified, we assess it and correct the article with wording proportionate to the mistake. Readers can use the Contact page to identify the article, passage and supporting information. We do not disguise a correction as a stylistic revision.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, supplied or partner-supported material is clearly labelled near the relevant content. Such arrangements do not guarantee editorial endorsement. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when that applies, the image is labelled so it is not mistaken for a documentary image of a real artwork, artist or event.
